We Don't Do Fast Food Here at Our Hotel in Torridon!

We look forward to welcoming you for a meal at the Kinlochewe Hotel, where the emphasis is on simplicity and flavour, using high quality local produce, freshly cooked just for you. Our home-cooked food features the very best of seasonal ingredients from local suppliers to produce simple yet always tasty meals.

We do our best to source the finest food from fresh and sustainably produced ingredients and take time to carefully prepare your meal. So, sit back, relax and soak in the atmosphere of the beautiful Highlands of Scotland while we carefully prepare your food.

Our prime cuts of local Ross-shire meat and game are supplied by Kenneth Morrison Butchers in Gairloch. The clear waters of Loch Torridon provide our creel caught langoustines  while our fresh salmon comes from the sustainable Loch Duart fish farms in Sutherland. Loch Torridon Smokehouse in Shieldaig supply all of our smoked fish.

Every week, Murdo brings us the pick of the catch from local fishermen. What we serve depends on what he brings – wild sea bass, halibut, turbot.haddock, sea trout, scallops, oysters, mussels and much more!

We also cater for most dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. As our food is made fresh to order we can usually modify dishes to meet your requirements so just ask one of our friendly and knowledgeable team. If we can, we will!

For those with a sweet tooth we have a selection of homemade puds. Our renowned frozen heather honey, malt whisky cream, secret recipe sticky toffee puddings and rich chocolate brownies are just some of the tempting delights that we have on offer.

Drinks to accompany your food.

We pride ourselves on the range and quality of drinks we offer: freshly made coffee, a selection of different teas, two real ale hand pumps, a choice of around 125 malt whiskies, 20 Scottish gins, an interesting selection of wines, bottled ales alcohol free and soft drinks.
We love our ales as much as our food and give them the same care an attention, after all, CAMRA doesn't give awards to just anyone! Like our food, we get our ales from local breweries, from as close as Strathcarron to slightly further afield at Cromarty and the Cairngorm Brewery.

After all that (and sometimes before) relax in our lounge with its sumptuous furniture. Chat with fellow guests, read a book from our collection or enjoy one of the many games on offer (and the ongoing jigsaw!).

We are dog friendly in the restaurant  however we ask that dog owners check with us first before bringing your furry friend inside. If you have any questions about visiting our hotel in Torridon, please get in touch with us at the Kinlochewe Hotel.

Real Ales

We love our real aleS. Having entries in the Good Beer Guide since 2011, we take great pride in the quality of the real ales we sell, which was recognised by our winning the Highlands & Western Isles CAMRA Pub of the Year 2017.
We buy our ales from many of the craft breweries in the North of Scotland as well as sourcing casks from further afield.
We have two hand pumps for real ale and we regularly sell ales from  Strathcarron, Cromarty and Cairngorm, with other breweries featuring in the bar as well.

Malt Whisky (Whisky Menu)  prices may vary

Scottish malt whisky is enjoying very buoyant sales globally and we are proud to contribute to that boom with around 125 malts on the shelves, plus one or two in the cupboard! We do not restrict ourselves to only Scottish malts with single malts from Japan, England, Wales, Tasmania, India and Ireland available for you to compare to the Scottish varieties.
Our standard malt shelf has a range covering all the distilling regions in Scotland with expressions from the popular distilleries at Talisker, Ardbeg, Glen Ord, Tomatin, Dalmore, Aberfeldy and Dalwhinnie amongst others.
Our rare and unusual collection has examples from closed distilleries at Glen Mhor, Rosebank and Dallas Dhu plus some of the more expensive expressions from Ardbeg, Bruichladdich, Glen Ord, Linkwood and Glen Scotia amongst others.
To guide you on malt whisky; how to drink it and to help you select a dram to suit your taste and wallet, we have compiled a comprehensive whisky list which is available. If you require any further information please ask the restaurant staff and they will be pleased to give you whatever help you may need.

Scottish Gin

Gin is enjoying a resurgence in recent years and no more so than in Scotland. A large number of new and established distilleries are producing gin and, in most cases, using botanicals local to the distillery to flavour the gin.
Over the last couple of years we have increased our choice of Scottish gin and we currently have over 15 bottles including those from the Isle of Harris, Skye, Bute, Orkney, Islay, Edinburgh, Shetland and Perthshire.
Enjoy a refreshing Scottish Gin served with Fever Tree tonic and ice  at our hotel in Torridon.
